Rachel Bouttenot

Rachel brings more than 10 years of experience teaching math and science. Most recently, she taught algebra, geometry, and precalculus in the Wiscasset School Department. She previously taught algebra and middle school math at Chewonki, with a focus on place-based learning, as well as math and science at Tilden Preparatory School in California.

Before entering education, Rachel was a microbiologist for the California Department of Public Health. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in molecular cell biology from Washington University in St. Louis, where she was also a Ph.D. candidate. Rachel is passionate about making complex concepts accessible and bringing joy, curiosity, and critical thinking into the classroom.
