About Willard Morgan
Willard has lead Chewonki Foundation since 2010, after six years as head of Chewonki Semester School (Maine Coast Semester at Chewonki). His professional background includes teaching, field science, conservation, and outdoor adventure.
He has a deep interest in innovative teaching that combines challenging experiential, outdoor, and academic learning to foster enduring personal and community development.
Before Chewonki
Before coming to Chewonki, Willard taught at the University of Vermont and the Pacific Crest Outward Bound School, led the Williams College Outing Club, and worked for The Nature Conservancy. Willard also serves as a trustee of St. Mark’s School in Southborough, Massachusetts. He has a B.A. in geosciences from Williams College and an M.S. in botany from the University of Vermont.

Willard lives in Alna with his wife, Jenn, and two daughters.
