About

Maranda Chung

Maranda grew up nearby, in Brunswick, and earned her B.A. in Environmental Studies from Skidmore College in upstate New York. While at Skidmore, she conducted research to analyze local food systems and got her hands dirty in the school garden. Since graduating in 2011, Maranda has dedicated her career to the field of experiential education.

Maranda has led a variety of programs in northern California, including redwood hikes, marine science excursions, high ropes courses, and cooking classes. After several years on the west coast, Maranda happily returned to her home state in 2018 to direct the summer Farm Camp at Wolfe’s Neck Center in Freeport. She is deeply passionate about fostering community and connection to the natural world, and she is thrilled to continue this work with the admissions team at Chewonki.

Outside of work, Maranda enjoys outdoor explorations, hosting potlucks, and performing music. She lives in Brunswick with her husband, Phil, and their cat, Peaches.
