My experience here has been amazing, but there is one thing that is very unsettling. The sheep don’t want to be my friend, the rocks are ugly, the wheat is stale, the brick crumbles, and the wood is rotten. Pass me that Devo Card! You Silly Goose, I’m not talking about Chewonki’s resources, I’m referring to the land of Catan! I’d have to say that I am a strong competitor, but there are some people (and I refuse to use names) that block my roads to success. Whenever I can, I crush their chances, but sometimes, it is not enough. If my people are reproducing like rabbits, I need more space for them! If I cannot buy them a city, I must go down the road to build them another settlement. If someone is blocking my road, my people will suffer! This is called Chaos. It is stressful and unfortunate. As their ruler, I cannot let this happen.
On those sad occasions when I cannot benefit my citizens, I still have fun. No, it is not fun destroying their lives, but it is fun to play with my fellow classmates and teachers. There are always people who want to play. This game is a great example of the community because it shows how open everyone is to playtime. Our Chewonki Experience is coming to a close, and I think those valuable moments playing are golden.
